Christmas | Quex Activity Centre | Events, Groups, Kids Parties Thanet

Important Message from the Director of Quex Activity Centre, Graham Stroud.

I would like to firstly thank you for booking tickets to The Elf Express & Magical Elf Forest or Elf Kingdom. 2020 has been an unprecedentedly challenging year for business and we were so looking forward to running our COVID safe experience this Christmas. We have worked tirelessly for the last several months to convert Quex Activity Centre into a COVID safe venue for the whole family and I could not be prouder of the efforts taken by my staff and the wider Quex Estate to both comply and exceed government rules and guidelines in regard to COVID security.
Following the shocking news that, with less than eight hours’ notice, Kent is to enter tier four, we have taken advice regarding the continuation of The Elf Express & The Magical Elf Forest and Elf Kingdom and have compared our offering and response against similar experiences now falling within tier four this Christmas.
Our current position is that The Elf Express & Magical Elf Forrest and Elf Kingdom will continue to run until further notice.
Situated within Quex Park, by name and nature a large country park allowed to remain open within tier four for family exercise and recreation, The Elf Express and Elf Kingdom are both outdoor country trails to be enjoyed by those within the same household or support bubble. At no point within The Elf Express or Elf Kingdom country trails do bubbles converge or leave the outside environment.
With our sudden entrance to Tier Four it is important that a clarification is made to the experience rules. Household and Support Bubbles must be adhered to on-site as per Tier Four rules. This requirement will be enforced by the our team and any breaches will be asked to leave site, without refund.
2020 has been beyond challenging for The Quex Activity Centre and other businesses within the Quex Estate. The Government support we have been offered has been negligible compared to our base running costs and without your support the future of The Quex Activity Centre is certainly not secure. The whole team are desperate to return to a sense of normality and we cannot wait to bring you a more typical programme of events in 2021.
If you have any queries or questions relating to this announcement, please contact us by email only at
Both my whole team and I wish you a very happy and healthy Christmas and New Year.

Important Elf Express/Elf Kingdom Announcement 26/11/2020

With today’s announcement of Kent entering Tier 3 we are delighted to announce that, in line with government guidelines, Elf Express and The Elf Kingdom will proceed, albeit with the following minor alterations.
  • Both Elf Express and The Elf Kingdom are fully outdoor experiences with no part of the experience taking place indoors.
  • Whilst within the Quex Estate, and subsequently the Elf Express and Elf Kingdom experiences, all visitors must remain within their ‘social bubbles’.
  • Elf Express and The Elf Kingdom now feature brand new ‘COVID Secure’ walk throughs experiences with Elf Themed distancing measures to keep the whole family safe.
  • Our COVID Champions throughout the experience always remain socially distanced and are temperature tested upon arrival on-site.
  • We have fully risk assessed the experience with the safety of our visitors and staff being our highest priority.
  • As previously planned, Elf Express and The Elf Kingdom have strict time slots and are intrinsically designed to ensure separation between groups. The use of time slots also ensures that numbers on-site always remain low.
  • All food and drink sold on site will be take-away only.
Whilst Kent remains in tier 3, we have decided to not use tractors and trailers as part of the experience at this time. Despite our trailers, including a brand new one for 2020!, being fully open with distanced seating we feel that to reduce risk even further we will temporarily pause their use. Whilst disappointed with this compromise, we are delighted to introduce a brand-new festive walk to the Elf Express experience.
We are relieved and pleased that we can still offer a Christmas Experience to the children of Kent this year. It is impossible to ignore the profound impact COVID has had on children and young people and we are excited to bring some Christmas Magic at this time. With live Reindeer, Twinkling Lights and Elves Galore there has never been a better time to visit the Elf Express and Elf Kingdom!
